Batch Setup Properties – General

Use the settings in this section to create a new batch setup.

General Properties

Name

  • The name of the batch setup.

Priority

  • Range: 1 (highest) to 10 (lowest). Default is 5.
  • Determines the processing order for batches created from this setup.
  • Especially important for unattended (automated) modules.
  • Can be changed later by Scan module operators or via Batch Manager.

Description

  • A description for informational purposes. Appears when viewing batch properties.

Image Location

  • Folder path for temporary image storage.
  • Enter manually or browse to select.
  • Used from capture until export to permanent storage.
  • Ensure accessibility for all processing modules.

Setup Type

  • Fixed Form
  • Free Form

Batch Details

  • To define batch fields, click New Batch Field and enter details in the Batch Fields table.

Batch Field Attributes

  • Name: Default is Namen (n = 0, 1, ...). Rename as needed.
  • Display Name: User-friendly label shown in modules (Scan, Validation, Verification, Batch Manager). Useful for localisation.
  • Field Type: Select from existing types or create a new one with New Field Type.
  • Default: Enter or select a default value.
  • Look Up Field: Enables automatic data retrieval based on another field.
  • Lookup Setup: Configure data source, key field, and auto-filled fields.
  • Required: Set to True to make the field mandatory. Cannot be True if Hidden is also True.
  • Verify: Mark for manual review during Verification stage.
  • Hidden: Set to True to hide the field’s value. Cannot be True if Required is also True.

Note: Required and Hidden cannot both be set to True. Enabling one automatically disables the other.

Batch Field Actions

  • New Field Type Button: Opens a window to define a custom field type.
  • New Batch Field Button: Adds a new batch field with default attributes. You can also right-click in the table or press Insert to add a field.
  • Delete Batch Field Button: Removes the selected batch field. You can also right-click or press Delete.
